Hey all,I have no idea why the salutation is underlined, or in blue, but I'm not going to mess with it. Below are some pictures I took while on our mini vacation for our anniversary. We decided about a week before to go to the island and "hang out" on Friday (7-10), then to the beach on Sat (7-11). Our anniversary was actually on Sunday (7-12), but other than having our temporary replacement fill in for us, it was a regular Sunday.
Fireworks on the Dolphin Watch Friday evening.

One of the other Dolphin Watch boats.

The causeway at Sunset.

I'm guessing this is an oil boat, but not sure.

The "shipyard" at the marina where we took our Dolphin Watch. We did get to see a couple of dolphins, but were not in the right position to get any pictures. Since we did the sunset/firworks "cruise" we didn't get to be out with the dolphins very long.

We stopped at the sea turtle rescue center on the Island. It was really interesting. That morning they had released some babies that were hatched in their hatchery on the island. There were more scheduled to hatch and be released the next day, but it was so early we decided not to bother trying to go and see. We didn't want to be on the beach all day long, so we passed. Would have been really neat though.

Most of these sea turtles are unable to be released back into the ocean, so they will be adopted out to zoos and aquariums to help raise awareness of the sea turtle. We learned so many interesting things about the sea turtle!! One such fact is that only a very SMALL percentage live to adulthood (which is 12-14 years) and make it back to their hatching spot to lay their own eggs. With this percentage, I think the guy said only 1 of the turtles released that morning would make it back.

That Sat (7-11) on the beach was awesome!! The surf was perfect for boarding, not to rough, but rough enough for some good rides!! It was shallow enough that the few times we did get "overthrown" we barely went anywhere. In the past, I've been thrown to the bottom, and actually felt like I had to fight my way up. I think that day was the most "awesomest" ever!! I was really glad too since we didn't know if we would be able to make it back again. We did go last weekend for the day on Sat, and the water was so calm. It was nice and relaxing, but not too good for boarding. We still had a good time though.
Well, this may be the last post for a while. No surprise huh? We are planning to pull out of here by 10 am Tues. That will put us halfway soon enough to get a good night's sleep before going the rest of the way on Wed. We plan to be at our new place by suppertime Wed. I have no idea how long it will be before we have internet access, and I don't know where a library is in relation to our house, but I'll get back on here as soon as I can!! We are really excited, but a little nervous too. Please pray for us!!! We will be starting our search for a church right away, so please help us pray that God will lead us to the church where we can be of most use for Him.
That's all for now. I still have some things on my list that need done so that I can cross them off. Will be in touch sometime...
Until next time,
Esther
