Slow Times?

Hey all,
Yes, these are sort of slow times, for me anyway!!! If you ask Ron though, he'd say it far from slow!!! With me recovering from surgery, he's had to take up some of the slack (and we've just let some things go), and he has been wonderful about it!!! I am almost back to normal, and in a couple of weeks should be able to resume normal activities. That will help things to slow down a little bit for Ron!!!!

A little bit of church news, with all the rain we've had this month, we found out that the front double doors are in dire need of replacement!!! They are not sealed well (also they are several years old, possibly the original doors) and the water runs into the church. When it rains hard like it has, there is a steady stream running across the floor to the front of the church. It's starting to effect the pews, so we are beginning the process of raising money to replace them. Hopefully we can get it done soon, and then move on to the next church improvement project!!! There are so many, we will just have to pick one!!!!!

One of the ladies in the community has been having Bible Study/Prayer Meeting once a week at her house. I am planning to attend this week, and I am excited to see first hand what God is doing!!!! It matters not that it's not "my" Bible Study. What matters is that God is working!!! I so enjoy seeing God work, and can't wait to witness God's hand in the lives of these women!!! God will work ANYWHERE and with ANYONE who is willing to let Him work, and will continue to work for as long as HE receives the glory.

Well, that is about it for now. Oh, by the way, we did get the wall up in the chicken pen to help protect them from the weather. I'll try to get pics on a future post. Also, I have decided which rooster to keep. One is too plain, so he's going, and the toss up between the other two was settled today as I watched them eat. The brown one is the meanest, so he's going. That leaves the irredescent black one. It's too hard to describe his coloring -- some tourqoius (spell check!!), some purple, some blue, some brownish yellow. Depends on how the light hits him. Anyway, he's really pretty, and doesn't seem to be too mean yet. If we get the other two out real soon, maybe he won't get mean. NOT looking forward to the butchering!!! But, that's the way the cookie crumbles!!! I did in a way ask for it!!!! Will let you all know how that goes, but probably won't post any pics!!!!!!!

Also, SS Charlie has been on hold because we have either not had service, or most of the children have been away, but we are hoping to pick it back up this Wed. We will see, and I will try to get the story on ASAP after giving it at church.

Well, that's it for now.

Until next time,
Esther

hey - glad you are resting! :-) Let me know about the Bible Study, maybe one week, once my life slows down, I'll go w/ you. I wouldn't want the butchering job...I pray that's something I NEVER have to do! Have a good week, see you when I get back. ~Renee

If ever a chicken needeth to die,
It's not a bother, don't ask me why,
I will not hesitate, to officiate
At a chicken head removal ceremony,

This method of execution,
Is quite humane.
It’s called decapitation,
Little struggle, no pain.

The chicken will run and jump and play,
Delighted no longer with a head encumbered.
Running about madly,
It no longer feels sadly,
This liberation from brains so joyfully encountered,
Just before eaten, is quite unconcerned,
This delicious and wonderful animal creature.
A rooster so handsome that had to die,
So that eat we could, you and I,
And deliciously savor that chicken’s meat,
Dipped in marinate, roasted in heat.
