Hey all,
I've been reading some blogs celebrating warm weather, and then commenting that it had left again. Well, for us, it's the opposite!! We've been experiencing a few days here and there of "cold" weather (50's-60's), and then back into the 80's-90's. I've seen a few mosquitos recently, so "summer" is almost here!! We sort of skip winter and spring (as far as weather is concerned.) The plants do sort of go dormant, and then wake up again, but my roses have been blooming since we planted them in Feb almost 2 years ago. I don't think there's been a time that I haven't had any roses at all. They slow down, yes, but still bloom all year round. That's one thing I like about it down here!!!
Anyway, we've gotten lots of things done recently. Ron made us 2 end tables from black walnut wood. Boy do they look nice!!! He did an awesome job, and since he bought wood (from ebay) and made them himself, we ended up spending for both a fraction of what it would have cost for one at a furniture store, and it's solid wood!!!! I'm planning to get pics this week, and so hopefully I'll get a chance to get some posted on here.
The other week, Ron (and I) got the garden spot ready for plants, and hopefully this week or next we can get the plants and get the garden in. Another thing about down here is that we can garden pretty much all year as well. Get one garden in in Jan/Feb, harvest in May/June, then do another one in Aug./Sept. We've never done 2 gardens, and if we get this one done when I want to, it will be the earliest we've gotten one in. I think if we do, we'll get better yield because the temp. isn't so high as it is in June-Aug. Anyway, by the time most of you are thinking about getting a garden planned, we'll be making relish and enjoying fresh jalepenos, peppers and tomatoes!!! I don't know what all we'll plant since we don't have a very big plot, but green tomato relish is the only relish Ron believes should exist, so we'll plant the ingredients for that for sure.
We're planning to finally get the tile laid in the annex this weekend. It's going to look reallly nice, and then we'll just have the carpet to lay after that and the annex project will be completed. It feels so good to finally getting close to completely finishing one of the huge projects that has been ongoing since day one!!!! I can't wait!!!!
I've detoured from my original Bible Study and did a quick one on an issue that I have discussed with people just about all my life. I was thinking about it some last week, I think, so I sat down with Power Bible CD and researched it out to see what the commentators had to say, and what background there was about the scripture in question. I just copied and pasted what I found to a word document, and I plan this week to organize it all and then post my findings, opinion, personal interpretation of the scripture. It will by no means be anything extremely profound, just my thoughts. I hope those of you that are keeping up with this blog will find it interesting, and I'm asking, in advance, for your thoughts and opionions, but please refrain from criticism. Any critical comments will not be published. I will be sharing my personal thoughts, not preaching or pointing fingers at anyone person or group of persons. I believe my thoughts are biblically based, but any correction (with scripture reference for backup) will be appreciated.
Now that maybe I've peaked your interest, or got your curiosity aroused, I'm going to sign off for tonight. I've been promising and promising, but my schedule just hasn't allowed for time, so now that I've got a little more organization in my life, maybe I'll actually get it done before I make a liar out of myself!! ;) Ya'll take care now, and keep tuned in!!! I'm going to try and post at least once a week, so maybe those of you that do check every so often won't be checking in vain!!!
Good night. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!
Until next time,
Esther

I don't know if I've ever thanked you for leaving nice comments on our blog...I love it when people leave comments. :) I don't get around to blogs very often, but there are a few times I get to check up on all my friends. :)
You're welcome to send the warmer weather up this way. :)
Have a great day! I can't wait to see your end tables.
