Busy Weekend!!!

Hey all!! Just a really quick one to tell about our weekend!! We were invited to go to the beach, but had too much to do!! Back in Feb, we planted a rose garden in the front of the trailer, where the hitch is. We had 11 rose bushes in pinks, reds, whites, and yellows (one of the yellow ones died though). Friday night, we put down soaker hoses between and around the bushes, and also in between the tomatoe and pepper plants we have next to the rose garden. (We already had a few of the little ones ripen, but I already ate them -- Boy were they delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!) Then, Sat. morning, we got up fairly early (Ron can't sleep past 8 anyway!!) and went in search of decorative stone to cover the ground in the rose garden instead of mulch (wow, I had a spanish moment there!!! Couldn't think of "instead of", I wanted to write "en vez de"!!!!!) We found exactly what we wanted, for a really good price at the first place we stopped, so we just bought it there instead of looking around more. We put down the plastic that keeps the weeds from growing on top of the soaker hoses, and then spread the stone over it. We got crushed limestone, which is a bright white, and very pretty!!! The dark green leaves of the bushes really stand out!!! We finished that around 10:30, about the time that Ron figured we'd start, and since it was such a nice day, and kind of hot, we were really tempted to go to the beach anyway!!!! I had things I had to do so we didn't go, but was tempting!!!

Since we didn't go to the beach, and we finished everything before supper, we decided to grill hamburgers (and I did some chicken for later) and just had a really enjoyable evening just the two of us!!!!

It's coming down to just a month before we take off for KS for my family reunion, and we have a list about a mile long of things we need to do!!!! This week, we plan on building the chicken pen, which the sooner we can get that done the better!!! They are growing fast, and are about too big for the box we have them in!!!! I was "playing" with them today, and I noticed that there really isn't much room left!!!! I have tried to mess with them quite a bit so that they will be used to me, and not be mean to me since I am the one that will "have to" take care of them!! I just hope it works!!!!!!!

Well, that's about all I have for now. I guess now that I think about it, the weekend really wasn't all that busy, just seemed like it at the time!!!! It's starting to warm up here, and I did get a little sunburnt working outside!!! We are heading into the summer, so a lot of time will be spent inside where it's cool, and Ron wants to go to the beach a lot more this summer too, so I will really have to be careful!!!!! As long as I apply, and reapply sunscreen, I should be ok!!!!!!
